тАШSheтАЩll never last on her own.тАЩ They know you canтАЩt go more than
twelve hours without a recharge. TheyтАЩve always known that. That is the rule.

тАШTheyтАЩll split us up.тАЩ

тАШMaybe theyтАЩll send us to Seattle.тАЩ

Cora and Rona cling to each other in a stiff clashing froth of rayon and
terylene.

The studio clock ticks, and ticks again. Each time it ticks the minute
hand jumps, a whole minute all at once, as if the seconds in between didnтАЩt
count for anything.

Rona says: тАШWe can go on as a duo.тАЩ

Cora says: тАШShe would want us to.тАЩ

Rona says: тАШThey would want us to.тАЩ

But Cora shakes her head. тАШNo they wouldnтАЩt.тАЩ

Rona looks at her.

тАШThey wouldnтАЩt,тАЩ Cora says again.

Cora shrugs her shoulders. тАШI just know, thatтАЩs all. If they did want us
to carry on, weтАЩd know, wouldnтАЩt we?тАЩ

booth. тАШI donтАЩt know, Cora.тАЩ

тАШTheyтАЩll be here soon, honey,тАЩ says Cora, gazing around at the empty
studio.

тАШI wish Candy was here,тАЩ says Rona.

тАШWhat shall we sing?тАЩ

тАШLetтАЩs sing one of the new ones. LetтАЩs sing тАЬTeen SupremeтАЭ,тАЩ says
Cora.

тАШWith no music?тАЩ
