engaged in a silent staring war.

Hyle went to stand beside Irin and smoothed a hand over the girlТs hair in a very
brotherly gesture. УIt dampens the lust of anyone in her presence. Even if one of the raedjour
were to want to molest her, they could not.Ф

Gala turned to the girl, smiling warmly as she took pale hands into her dark ones. Irin
looked up at her, not at all affected, it seemed, by GalaТs near nudity nor the discussion at

УYou have?Ф Gala glanced at Hyle.

He smiled, scratching his scalp sheepishly. УI may have said a little about you.Ф

УBut you didnТt tell me anything about Irin!Ф

УDonТt be mad at him,Ф Irin said, coming quickly to his defense. УIТm not allowed
around any of the women until theyТre well into a pregnancy.Ф

Gala looked back to Hyle. УOh?Ф


He nodded. УWe donТt know how long the sex is necessary into the pregnancy. We
canТt take the chance that having Irin in the vicinity quells desires necessary for the babyТs
health.Ф

УShe knows more about it than we do,Ф Diana grumbled.

Gala glanced back just in time to see Salin -- who now sat amiably beside his truemate
instead of over her -- pinch DianaТs arm. Diana yelped. УSheТs been around longer than you
have. And she listens.Ф

Gala laughed, taking IrinТs arm and leading her further into the room. She ignored the
girlТs apprehensive look at the bickering couple. УThen weТll just have to keep you around to
