NOT ENOUGH RELIGION?
All politicians should heed secular guidelines if they want peace in America, keeping state and church separate. If not, they are responsible for fomenting dissension in America.
Everything religious should be kept separate from secular society. The obvious reason is that one manТs religion is another manТs fascism.
The religious right, for example, is pushing for school prayer. It is perfectly legal if children want to pray silent by themselves; it is illegal for the teacher to initiate a classroom prayer. They are bound to step on the toes of some children who hold different or no religious beliefs. Teachers know that children can be cruel towards those who are different. Teachers too can be cruel and vicariously hate those students who are not religious, using their classrooms to harangue those children. The teacher would be guilty of fomenting hatred. This is also true about posting the Ten Commandments, a religious document, on civic buildings. Those who advocate pushing their religion onto others are anti-democratic. A note to those who advocate breaking down the wall of church and state separation: if you donТt have enough religion at your church and home, I suggest you get professional help.
