The greatest extraterrestrial threat to Mankind so far, which reached its climax in the Battle for Terra, had been repulsed-thanks to Arkonide intervention. As for attacks from within, the political ogres conjured up by renegade Thomas Cardif had been 'exorcised' as a result of Pucky's personal intervention. A further peaceful development of Mankind can only be possible, however, if peace is established in the galaxy itself-and that goal still appears to be far away... Even the undying Atlan seeks such a peace, having recently taken the place of the robot Regent, that mighty machine that had previously used the merciless forces of its robot fleets to smash every revolution against the central Arkonide power. Atlan, who is now Imperator Gonozal VIII, and Perry Rhodan, Administrator of the Solar Empire, have made a mutual assistance pact which is realistically based on the instinct for self-preservation. Thus it happens that Perry Rhodan is present on Arkon 3 in August of the year 2044 when he receives an emergency hypercom dispatch from Marshal Freyt on Terra. The Marshal relays an urgent message to him which has come from Hades, the secret Terranian base inside the Druuf universe. The distress call involves Ernst Ellert's return! 1/ DISTRESS CALL TO HADES! |
