RegТs face lost much of its healthy glow. "Me? How come me? Must I?"
Perry nodded deliberately. "One of us will have to, so why not you? I canТt rely
on anyone as much as I can on you."
RegТs hair, which had seemed at this point to be standing on end, returned to
its unruffled state. He made a grand gesture that seemed to embrace everything.
"Hmm. Yes, of course. Your right, as always. When is this to be?"
"As soon as the world has calmed down," Perry replied. He took the neutralizer
and returned inside the Stardust.
Reg followed slowly. With an expert glance he studied the helicopter, which lay
askew, put the psychoradiator in his pocket with a regretful shrug of his
shoulders, and closed the hatch.
In the command centre they met Fletcher, who said, "Dinner is ready. What
happened?"
Perry explained everything to him in a few words.
"And do you believe you can be successful? IТve told you already that IТm not
going along with it. I want to go home. I want to see my wife again. In three

"Everything will be finished by then, Fletch. YouТve got to be reasonable. Look
here, weТve known each other quite a long time. IТm certainly not doing anything
