again. Angie became Luciani's _consigliere_, and then the two of them finally
turned around and bit the hand that fed them. Four days ago, Mr. Corvino's
oldest son, who's been running the Vatican Bank for over a dozen years, was
plugged by a priest. Luciani's got some pretty tough boys in his outfit these
days, and I don't kid myself that this is gonna be an easy war. Mr. Corvino
says we both made the same mistake with Big Al Luciani; we taught him
everything we know, and now he don't need us no more.
It's too bad, too, 'cause I kind of liked the guy. And it's gonna break
my heart to clip my sister's son. But business is business. Those boys in the
Church got greedy. They just don't wanna share no piece of their operation no
more with perfectly legitimate businessmen like myself and Mr. Corvino.
