Vicki felt drained. Bruce, the man who had helped change her life, was gone. Her friend Chaya had lost
her mother in the bombing. Another Young Tribulation Force member, Mark, had nearly been killed, and
where was Ryan? Vicki was hanging by a thread, but there wasnтАЩt time to think about that now.

Judd was taking them, along withPhoenix, back to the road where they had found RyanтАЩs crumpled
bike. Lionel had been on the cell phone with John.

тАЬItтАЩs crazy right now,тАЭ Vicki said.

тАЬThe records are probably incomplete. People arenтАЩt concerned with keeping record of the dead. They

Lionel looked hard at Vicki.

Phoenixpicked up the trail from the road and took them through tall grass near the hill overlooking
NorthwestCommunityHospital. As they neared the top, Lionel shouted, тАЬLook at these tracks!тАЭ

In the grass, Vicki saw two sets of deep tire marks.

Phoenixcame back to the tracks and barked. He sniffed through the area and whined, tipping his head
this way and that.
