"Aubry! Just how long was I asleep?"

"Five days. Auderic said your skull was cracked."

Shadow groaned.

"Five days! Fortune blight that healer. She must be leagues away by
now, even with the guard to slow her down and maybe two days getting
ready if she hurriedтАФand she'd have hurried. I'll have to work fast."

"Work-тАФwhat are you planning to do?" Aubry demanded. "Go running
after her and leave the Guild at Vikram's mercy?"

"No," Shadow said. "I'm going to leave it at yours."
